Willow Creek Wealth is named in honor of Greg’s maternal grandparents, Miles and Celia Jensen.

Miles owned a successful bread distribution business in Central Utah, while Celia worked as a nurse and maintained a house full of very young children. They also ran a small cattle farm and volunteered at church.

Over time he pioneered a way to help underprivileged children in the Navajo nation to have better educational opportunities. In 1954 Miles was asked by Church leader Spencer W. Kimball to make a large sacrifice for that cause. Would he sell his business and run the program he had started, full-time? Although this involved a 126-mile commute (each way), he accepted.

Later in life, Miles and Celia pioneered work in local nursing and farming while serving a church mission together in Nigeria. When a state prison was built in Gunnison, Miles was there volunteering well into his retirement years.

It’s daunting to live up to such a legacy. At Willow Creek Wealth we want to try by focusing on the needs of families, under the coveted fiduciary standard of care.
